I spent the weekend on the beach at Kribi with my friend Louis and her boyfriend’s cousin Gael.

We left Douala friday on the ‘noon’ bus which actually left at 2:30p.

After I got mugged last week, I was a little shaken. I didn’t lose much, but the act of being robbed had me feeling both anger and fear.

Right now as I write this, I’m sitting with my host sisters, watching a latin-american telenovela which has been translated into French.

This week I got to my host brother/father’s village. To clarify, if the parents of the house I live in are my host-parents, then Marius, who I’ve been calling my host-brother is actually my host uncle. That is, he is the little brother of the Father of the family I live with.
